About Ruby
Ruby Cook is an emerging screen and stage performer with a strong foundation in acting, movement, and performance, shaped by both formal training and real-world experience. She has completed intermediate screen acting training through Screenwise, alongside a six-week American accent course, and holds an HSC Drama background with extensive performance experience throughout her schooling.
Her performance work spans stage, screen, and live engagement. She portrayed Abigail Williams in The Crucible for Oakhill College's senior production, performed in Les Misérables as Whore 3, and received HSC on-stage nominations for both monologue and group performance. More recently, Ruby hosted the Wildstone Australia corporate podcast, strengthening her on-camera presence, conversational delivery, and professional screen confidence. She has also appeared as the featured "hero" on an Optus billboard, gaining experience in commercial and brand-led performance.
Alongside acting, Ruby is a lifelong competitive dancer and currently teaches dance at a competitive level. This background has deeply informed her physical awareness, musicality, and ability to inhabit character through movement. She also regularly performs in immersive, character-driven roles at children's events, including fantasy and pop-culture characters such as Elsa, fairies, and themed heroes—experience that has sharpened her improvisation skills, adaptability, and audience connection.
Beyond performance, Ruby brings strong communication skills developed through public speaking and debating awards, English tutoring, and academic achievement, including a 97.95 ATAR. She has completed HYROX competitions twice, reflecting her discipline, resilience, and athleticism—qualities she carries into her work as a performer. Her professional background in marketing and media has further strengthened her understanding of storytelling, branding, and screen presence in contemporary performance contexts.
Ruby is passionate about character-driven storytelling and continues to develop her craft across screen, stage, and commercial performance...
