casting.directory is run by JJ Splice Films Pty Ltd (ABN 85 158 464 503), trading as JJ Splice Screen Academy, 56 Buckingham Street, Surry Hills NSW 2010 (“we”, “us”).
Actors listed on this site appear with their consent. They can ask for their page to be changed or removed at any time by emailing artists@jjsplice.com. We take removed pages down promptly and ask search engines to drop them.
Information we collect
- From the contact form: your name, email, phone (if given) and message. We pass these to the actor you are contacting and keep a copy so we can follow up.
- From listed actors who update their page: your email address and the changes you make.
- Automatically, from all visitors: pages viewed, videos played, links clicked, approximate location (city), device and browser type, and the site that referred you. We collect this with Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel.
How we use it
- To put industry visitors in touch with the actors they enquire about.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it.
- To show visitors, including listed actors, relevant advertising for JJ Splice Screen Academy courses and showreel services on Google and Meta platforms (Facebook, Instagram), and to measure that advertising. This includes creating advertising audiences based on your visits and, where we hold your email address, matching it in hashed form to your Google or Meta account.
We do not use visits by, or to the pages of, actors under 18 for advertising.
Cookies and tracking
Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel set cookies and similar identifiers. We also set a cookie to remember whether you are a listed actor. You can opt out of personalised advertising in your Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com) and your Facebook Ad Preferences, and you can block cookies in your browser. To opt out of Google Analytics: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Who we share it with
Google (Analytics and Ads) and Meta Platforms, as described above; our email and hosting providers (Resend and Netlify), to run the site; and, for contact-form enquiries, the actor you contact. We do not sell personal information. Some of these providers store data outside Australia, in the United States.
How long we keep it
Contact enquiries for up to 2 years. Analytics data for 14 months. Advertising audience data for as long as the platform allows, typically up to 540 days.
